Maximizing Fidelity in an Airborne Recording Platform

Maximizing Fidelity in an Airborne Recording Platform Customer Application

In a recent project at a major defense prime, the instrumentation team collaborated with the R&D team to build a comprehensive library of real-world RF data captures. Building this library was critical in maintaining their position as a leading provider of electronic warfare systems.

The common goal of both engineering teams was to capture high fidelity, real-world signals in an airborne environment. Given the cost associated with flying an aircraft, it was imperative to generate a permanent record of real-world conditions—in a single recording—for repeated playback and review. These recordings could then be distributed across all engineering teams. The challenge was to achieve desired outcomes within the limitations of available hardware, time constraints, and budgetary restrictions. Download the app note below to see how Spectrum Defender enabled the R&D team to hit their project goals without consuming the internal resources required for an in-house custom build.

Do you use an X-COM RF recorder now?

Spectrum Defender will not force you to change your analysis workflow. Our instruments can directly record X-COM compatible files. You can continue to use Spectro-X, RF Editor, and all of your existing MatLab/C analysis tools after you migrate to Spectrum Defender.

The venerable X-COM IQC-90000 RF Recorder served the industry well for over 10 years. Spectrum Defender stands ready to accept that baton, and will continue to serve the industry into the next decade.
